September 24, 1970 - The Anamosa Eureka

CENTER JUNCTION - Mrs. Herman (Maria C.) Osterkamp, 65, Center Junction, died Monday, Sept. 21, at Anamosa Community hospital following an illness of several weeks.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 1:30 p.m., at Wayne Zion Lutheran church. Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson conducted the service. Burial was in Wayne Zion cemetery. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included Emil Ortgies, Marvin Rickels, Gary Catlett, William Osterkamp, William Anton and Melvin Dirks.

She was born March 29, 1905, daughter of Gerhard Antons and Margaret Lurkens Antons, Center Junction. She attended Center Junction area schools. She was married May 12, 1927, to Herman Osterkamp. She had lived her married life in the Anamosa and Center Junction communities.

Survivors include her husband, six sisters, Mrs. Tena Peterson, Mrs. Elmer Hinrichs, Mrs. Rhinehardt Dirks, Center Junction; Mrs. Carl Ortgies, Anamosa; Mrs. Arthur Rickels, Scotch Grove; Mrs. Gail Catlett, Center Junction; and two brothers, Richard and Raymond Antons, both of Center Junction.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Henry and John Antons.
