September 17, 1970 - The Anamosa Eureka

Mrs. Louie (Meta) Zimmerman, 67, Anamosa, died Monday Sept. 14, at the Senior Home, Monticello, following an illness of several months.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran church, Anamosa. Rev. Walter A. Behrens will conduct the service. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers include Richard Zimmerman, Richard Kurtz, Lester Ricklefs, Lawrence Ricklefs, Raymond Poppe and Marvin Ricklefs.

She was born July 24, 1903, daughter of Henry Ricklefs and Conradinia Granevald Ricklefs, near Monticello. She attended Jones county rural schools. She was married to Louie Zimmerman, Dec. 30, 1925, at Anamosa. She had lived her married life on a farm near Anamosa. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church, Anamosa.

Survivors include her husband, Louie; two daughters, Mrs. June Sherman, Des Moines; and Miss Shirley Zimmerman, Cherokee; and three grandchildren.

Others include four brothers, Henry Ricklefs, Carl Ricklefs and Clarence Ricklefs, Monticello; and Ernest Ricklefs, Langworthy; and three sisters, Mrs. Fred H. Poppe, Monticello; Mrs. Mabel Sutton, Anamosa; and Mrs. Fred Cords, Delhi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
