OLIN - Mrs. Leona Rohwedder, 82, died Friday, Aug. 28, following a lingering illness, at Cedar Manor Convalescent home in Tipton.

A Family Prayer service was held at the Hayden Funeral home in Olin on Monday, Aug. 31, at 2:30 p.m., with Memorial services at St. Paul's United Methodist church, Olin, at 3 p.m. Rev. Lloyd Dutro conducted the services. Interment was in the Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers included Leo Bonjour, Maurice Bonjour, Gerald Fowlie, Mearl Fowlie, Eugene McCaw and Herbert Levsen.

Mrs. Ronald Rogers was organist. Loren Hartwig was soloist.

She was born Dec. 25, 1887, daughter of David A. and Lovisa Root Clay, in Hale township, Jones county. She grew to womanhood in the Hale and Olin communities where she attended the rural schools in the area.

She was married to Hans H. Rohwedder, Dec. 31, 1919, at Cedar Rapids. Mr. and Mrs. Rohwedder farmed in the Olin area for most of their married life until 1948 when they moved into Olin to make their home.

She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist church southeast of Olin, and of the Women's Society of Christian Service at the St. Paul's United Methodist church in Olin.

Survivors included two sons, Walter and Harold, both of Olin; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step daughters, Helen Rohwedder, San Diego, Calif., and Ella Klingler, LaMesa, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Ramey, Winters, Calif.; several step-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceeded in death by one son, Lyle, in 1954; her husband Nov. 15, 1955; both her parents, one stepson, Arthur; five sisters and three brothers.
