WYOMING - Mrs. Catherine Buchholtz, 85, died at the Anamosa Community hospital on Sunday, June 14.

Funeral services were held at the Zion American Lutheran church, Wyoming, on Wednesday, June 17, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Alfred Mardorf conducted the service. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Catherine Buchholtz was born June 13, 1885 in Schleswig Holstein, Germany, daughter of Henry and Gertrude Stalberg Westphal. She came to the United States at the age of 14, arriving in Monticello where she worked for several years.

She later worked at Olin until her marriage to Louis Buchholtz on Feb. 23, 1907. After their marriage, the couple moved to a farm west of Wyoming; and except for a few years, they farmed there until their retirement in 1947, when they moved to Wyoming.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Carl Grabbe, Anamosa; a daughter-in-law; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, her parents, five brothers and one sister.
