7 May 1970 - The Anamosa Eureka

Paul C. Hinz, 71, Anamosa, died Monday, May 4, at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 6, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic church. Rev. Alfred Brosius conducted the service. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery. McNamara Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included Tony A. Shada, Anthony Dunlevy, Elroy Hinz, Junior Hinz, Orval Hinz and Ervin Hinz.

He was born Sept. 28, 1898, son of Anthony Hinz and Anges Swartz Hinz, Wisconsin. He was married April 16, 1918, to Esther Boucher at Farmington, Wisc. He lived in Wisconsin until 1930 when he moved to Anamosa and made his home in this area since that time. He was a retired employee of Collins Radio Co.

Survivors include seven sons, Marcellus, Palo; Manford and Virgil, Anamosa; Edward, Titusville, Fla.; Allen and Sylvester, Cedar Rapids, and Clifford, Puyallup, Wash.

Others include two daughters, Virginia, Mrs. William Benter, Rowley, and Vernice, Mrs. Tony Shada, Anamosa; one brother, Leo Hinz, Osceola, Wisc; 33 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his wife; two children who died in infancy; and five brothers and two sisters.
