26 February 1970 - The Anamosa Eureka

ONSLOW - Dr. Roy J. Kleinick, 74, long time veterinarian, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Anamosa Community hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 20, at 1:30 p.m., at the Hayden funeral home, Wyoming. Rev. Theo. Neely, of the Presbyterian church, conducted the service. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery. Masonic services were held at the funeral home Thursday evening, at 7:30

Pallbearers included Lawrence Hartwig, Kenneth Twachtmann, Leonard Kleinick, Charles Armstrong, Robert Coogan and Lyman Thompson.

He was born April 19, 1895, son of John and Tillie Ruyicha Kleinick, Mount Vernon. He graduated from Center Junction high school and the Chicago Veterinarian college. He practiced his profession in Baldwin, Onslow and Wyoming before retiring in 1962 after 50 years of practice.

He was married Aug. 28, 1918, in Bernice Stingley in Davenport. He was a member of the Onslow Fraternity lodge No. 619 A.F.&A.M., Consistory El Kather, Cedar Rapids. A 50 year member of the Wyoming American Legion, member of the Onslow Men's club and past president of the Onslow Telephone Co. He had played pro baseball in Jones county for several years.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Rosemary, Mrs. Lester Specht, Grand Mound; three brothers, Victor and Robert Kleinick, Onslow; Edward, Wyoming; one sister, Mrs. Josie Barrett, Fort Morgan, Colo.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
