VIOLA - Mrs. Lester Knight, 77, Viola, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Anamosa Community hospital, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 15, at 1:30 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. Boyd Bonebrake will conduct the service. Interment will be in the Wilcox cemetery.

She was born Clara L. Staley, April 16, 1892, daughter of Fred and Ida Burlingham Staley, Viola. She received her early education in the Viola school. She was married March 25, 1908, to Lester Knight. She had lived her life in the Viola community. She was a member of the Viola United Methodist church.

Survivors include her husband, Lester; one son, DeWayne, Cedar Rapids; one daughter, Leota, Mrs. Estel Thomson, Clear Lake; one sister, Mrs. Rose Westphal, Oxford Junction; two brothers, Archie Staley, Oxford Junction; and Fred Staley, Onslow; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and sisters.
