MARTELLE - Mrs. H. M. Kyle, 66, died unexpectedly at her home in Martelle last Monday, Sept. 20. Mrs. Kyle operated a grocery store in Martelle for 18 years.

Funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, with Rev. R. A. Badger and Rev. Geroge Youtzy officiating. Burial was in the Linn Grove cemetery.

Serving as casketbearers were Glen Richardson, Fred Lang, Levi E. Blythe, Clayton Murfield, Leonard Gordon and Donald Howe.

Elva Jane Kinney Kyle, daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Ruth Reade Kinney, was born Dec. 21, 1887, near Onslow. She was married to H. Merritt Kyle Aug. 27, 1911, at Marion, and they resided on a farm in Linn Grove community.

One daughter, Pauline, was born to the couple.

In 1917, they moved to Paralta and operated a grocery store until 1934, when they moved to Martelle. They were in the grocery business in Martelle until 1952.

Mrs. Kyle was a member of the Martelle Methodist church until her marriage, when she joined the Linn Grove Presbyterian church. However, she was active in the Methodist Women's Society for Christian Service and Mary Deborah circle.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Robert Peet, Martelle, three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ava B. Waddill, Marion, and Mrs. Mae Nielson, Martelle, and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
