Mrs. Rose Ponto, 77, former Anamosa resident, died Monday evening, Aug. 2, in Charles City, according to word received in Anamosa Tuesday.

Funeral was conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Grossman funeral home, Charles City, with committal service at 3 p.m. at Riverside cemetery, Anamosa.

Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Belknap, Mrs. Ponto was born in Anamosa Dec. 19, 1876. She was married to Penn M. Ladd in 1901. He died in a car accident in 1919.

In 1924, she was married to Charles J. Ponto, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ponto was a member of the Charles City Methodist church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jesse Flair, Charles City, and two sisters, Mrs. T. B. Hines, Mt Vernon, Ohio, and Mrs. John Craven, Carlton, Oreg.

Preceding her in death, besides her late husband, were three brothers and a daughter.
