CENTRAL CITY - Mrs. Lola Hathaway Ramsey, 81, Anamosa, died Monday, June 28, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. L. Kennedy, in Central City, following a lingering illness of several years.

Funeral service was conducted at the Passmore funeral home Wednesday, June 30, by Rev. F. G. Samck. Burial was in Cedar Memorial park, Cedar Rapids.

Daughter of Edwin and Flora Downs Hathaway, she was born March 24, 1873, at Fair Haven, Ill. She attended school at Chadwick, Ill., and Frances Shimer college at Mt. Carroll, Ill. She taught school at Chadwick for two years.

She married Eugene Ramsey at Freeport, Ill., April 6, 1899. Three daughters were born, one of whom died in childhood.

Mrs. Ramsey was a member of the Evangelical church, later changing her membership to the First Congregational church, Anamosa, in which she was active for 35 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kennedy, and Mrs. Myrnice Legel, Mt. Carroll, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Libbie Keister, Rockford, Ill.; and a niece, Miss Irma Lambert, Chicago.
