MONTICELLO - Chris G. Decker, 51, was found dead sitting in a chair on the back porch of his home in Monticello late Tuesday afternoon.

Death apparently was from heart disease.

He is survived by his wife and three children, Mrs. Everett Rodgers, Sac City; Mrs. Paul Loes, Cascade; and Clifford, Monticello.

Other relatives are: one brother, William C. Decker, Monticello; and two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Martinsen, Monticello, and Mrs. Otto Rittmer, Manchester.

Funeral service will be held at Goettsch Funeral home in Monticello Friday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.

Chris Decker, 51, died unexpectedly at his home at 801 North Maple street Tuesday afternoon following a heart attack. Funeral services will be held from the Goettsch funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday with burial in Oakwood cemetery. Rev. John W. Baumann will have charge of the burial services.

Christopher Gerhard Decker was born near Monticello on Oct. 21, 1902, the son of Christian and Maria Reuter Decker. He was raised on the family farm and educated in the rural schools of the area.

On April 3, 1923 he was married to Dora Arduser. The couple made their home on a farm northeast of Monticello until 1950 when they moved to Monticello.

They became the parents of three children, all of whom survive: Ruth Ann, (Mrs. Everett Rodgers) Sac City; Fern (Mrs. Paul Loes) Cascade and Clifford, Monticello.

Besides his wife and children, he is survived by two grandchildren; a brother, William C. Decker of Monticello, and two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Martinsen, Monticello, and Mrs. Otto Rittmer, Manchester.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mrs. Lena Reuter, and another sister who died in infancy.
