February 25, 1954 - The Anamosa Eureka

Mrs. Frank Benadom, 70, Anamosa, died of an acute coronary attack Tuesday morning, Feb. 23, while visiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pansy McGowen, Oak Park, Ill.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Congregational church with Rev. John W. Hosmer officiating. Body is at the Goettsch funeral home.

Burial will be in Antioch cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be Tom, Jack and Dale Day, Dwayne and Darrell Meredith and Lyle Clark.

Mrs. Benadom, the former Blanche Clark, was born Dec. 11, 1883, the daughter of Wilbur and Susan West Clark, in Linn county.

She was married to Frank Benadom Oct. 4, 1904, in Anamosa. She spent all her married life in the Anamosa area.

Besides being a member of the Congregational church, she was a member of the Evangeline Rebekah lodge.

Surviving, besides her husband, are three daughters, Mrs. Pansy McGowen, Oak Park, Ill., Mrs. Ruth Grafft, Central City, Mrs. Eleanor Siebels, South Gate, Calif., and three sons, Cecil, Toronto, Canada, Franics, San Francisco, and Robert, Lynwood, Calif.

Three grandsons, nine granddaughters, four sisters, Mrs. Alma Flaherty, Anamosa; Mrs. Myrtle Albee, Long Lake, Minn.; Mrs. Ina Martelett, Lansing, Mich.; and Mrs. Essie Day, Anamosa, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were one brother and two sisters.
