28 January 1954 - The Anamosa Eureka

Isaac James Kendall, 72, died at the Jones County home, Scotch Grove, Monday, Jan. 25.

Funeral service was held at Goettsch funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, with Rev. H. A. James, pastor of the Anamosa Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Kendall, son of the late Richard and Hanna Kendall, was born Nov. 18, 1881, at Emeline. When he was two years old he was a victim of infantile paralysis which left him handicapped.

He moved to Anamosa with his parents in 1912. His parents preceded him in death in 1930. Since their death, Mr. Kendall resided at the county home.

Preceding him in death also were two brothers, who died in infancy; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Townsend and Mrs. Alta Manley.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. John Dakar, Breckenridge, Minn.; Mrs. Ella Cook, Chicago, Mrs. Lucy Ketchum, Cedar Rapids; and one brother, Clifford, Marion.
