WYOMING - Mrs. Hattie Dieckmann, 68, died last Friday, Oct. 1, following a long illness.

Funeral service was conducted at Wallace funeral home at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, with burial in Elwood cemetery, DeWitt.

Walter Sullivan was soloist accompanied by Mrs. Sullivan. Casket bearers were John, Richard and Stanley Eichhorn, Robert Fishwild, Evan Owen and George W. Tompkins.

Mrs. Dieckmann was born May 2, 1886, in Wyoming the daughter of Henry and Ann Broderson Eichhorn. Following her education in Wyoming public schools, she became one of the first telephone operators in Wyoming. She held that position for a number of years.

June 14, 1916, she was married to John Dieckmann at the Wyoming Presbyterian parsonage. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Lowden, later moving to Welton. Mr. Dieckmann died March 24, 1944.

Mrs. Dieckmann had lived in Wyoming the last several years.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. George Fishwild, Wyoming; three brothers, Chris and Tom Eichhorn, Wyoming and Henry Eichhorn, St. Louis.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brother, Pete; a sister, Stena Tompkins. One brother and a sister died in infancy.
