WYOMING - Earlier this month death claimed the only son of Dr. Ben Chamberlain, formerly of Wyoming. Chauncy W. Chamberlain died in a Santa Barbara hospital after a two year illness. He was 46.

Born in Wyoming, June 28, 1908, Mr. Chamberlain went to Alhambra, Calif., with his parents in 1924. He was a graduate of Alhambra high schoo,, but had attended Wyoming school up until his senior year in high school.

He made a rapid rise in his career with the oil company. He had joined Seaside Oil Co., as a truck driver in Los Angeles in September, 1932. In January 1935 he was made manager of the Atlanta distributing plant for the firm there and in July of the same year was made manager of Seaside's entire transportation department.

In June, 1938, he came to the head office of the firm in Santa Barbara to become purchasing agent and traffic manager. In June 1949, he was promoted to manager of operations, the post he held at the time his last illness started.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Alma; one daughter, Marilyn; one son, Edward, all of Santa Barbara, and sister, Mrs. Harry Simmons, Burbank. He family's home is at 125 San Roque Rd., Santa Barbara. His parents reside at 816 Lindaraza Pk., Alhambra.

Mr. Chamberlain was a member of La Cumbra Lodge 642, AF and AM; the Elks club, Lions club and Scottish Rite temple, all in Santa Barbara, and the Al Malaikah Shrine, Los Angeles.

Funeral service was conducted at the Trinity Episcopal church, Santa Barbara, of which he was a member, with Rev. Richard Fayers and the Santa Barbara Masonic order officiating. Interment was at the Forest Lawn cemetery, Glendale, in the Garden Mausoleum.
