MONTICELLO - Mrs. Rhinehard Helgens, 66, died at her home north of Monticello Monday evening, July 5, after a long illness.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at St. Matthew's Lutheran church with Rev. H. L. Adix officiating. Burial was at Oakwood cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Raymond, and three daughters, Mrs. Lavern Hoffman, Ogema, Wisc.; Robert and Mrs. Raymond Kernen, Monticello.

Surviving also are three sisters, Mrs. Harm Huls, Deer Creek, Minn., Mrs. John Helmrichs, Manchester, and Mrs. Anna Husman, Monticello; one brother, Jacob Leesekamp, Scotch Grove, and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Rhinehard Helgens passed away at her home north of Monticello Monday evening, following a long illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 8, at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew's Lutheran church. Rev. H. L. Adix will officiate, with burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Gesina E. Leesekamp was born near Monticello January 4, 1888, the daughter of Lambertus and Marie Kruiger Leesekamp. She attended the rural schools near Monticello. On Feb. 15, 1912 she was married to R. H. Helgens, and they farmed in this community and for 5 years in Minnesota. For the past 18 years they have made their home on their present farm north of Monticello.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Raymond, and three daughters: Marie, Mrs. Lavern Hoffman, Ogema, Wis.; Roberta and Elnora (Mrs. Raymond Kernen), both of Monticello. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Harm Huls of Deer Creek, Minn., Mrs. John Helmrichs, Manchester, and Mrs. Anna Husman of Monticello; one brother, Jacob Leeskamp of Scotch Grove, and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Helgens was a member of the St. Matthew's Lutheran church of Monticello. Pallbearers will include Fred Rieniets, Henry Rieniets, Albert Fass, John H. Behrends, Glenn Eilers and Neman Moore. The Goettsch funeral home has charge of arrangements.
