Miss Mary Allen Strong, 78, died early Friday afternoon, June 4, at Mercy hospital after a long illness.

Funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 7, at Goettsch funeral home. Rev. Charles Henricks and Rev. John W. Hosmer officiated. Burial was in North Madison cemetery, Center Junction. Nephews served as casket bearers.

Miss Strong was born Aug. 6, 1875, near Scotch Grove, the daughter of Peter E. and Amanda Letze Strong. She lived with her parents until their death, and since then she has resided with a sister, Mrs. Frank Fairbanks, in Cass township.

She was a member of the Anamosa Congregational church.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Roy C. Walters, Onslow, and Mrs. Fairbanks, Anamosa; two brothers, Will, Wyoming, and John, Center Junction and four nephews and one niece.
