MARTELLE - A. L. "Andy" Hoffman, 69, life-long resident of Martelle, died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, May 15, while working in the yard at his home.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at the Martelle Methodist church with Rev. George Youtzy officiating. Burial will be Norwich cemetery. Goettsch funeral home, Anamosa, is handling arrangements.

Family requests that no flowers be sent, but the money be given to the heart fund.

Son of Frank and Caroline Rupf Hoffman, he was born at Martelle Sept. 9, 1884. He was married to Miss Lenora Graaff at Bellevue Dec. 22, 1914.

He was in the garage business for several years in Martelle, worked for a year at a Davenport plant and was employed for three years at Collins.

Mr. Hoffman was a member of the Board of Directors of the Martelle Farmers Savings bank, the K. P. lodge and the Methodist church.

Surviving, besides his wife, are four sisters. They are: Mrs. A. J. Reed, Martelle; Mrs. Homer Allen, Des Moines; Mrs. C. L. Murfield and Miss Alva Hoffman, also of Martelle.
