OXFORD JUNCTION - Final rites for Mike Vaskovsky, 93, were held Tuesday, April 6, at the Sacred Heart church here at 9 a.m. with the Rt. Rev. Monsignor Joseph Gregor officiating. Music was by the church choir.

Serving as casket bearers were Joe Kouba and Ed Holub, Wyoming; Ray Mowry, Frank Kolarik, Fred Koranda and Vit Lasack, Oxford Junction. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mike Vaskovsky was born 1861 in Bohemia. He came to the United States when a young man and lived near Wyoming, where he was married to Mary Kouba.

They farmed for many years three miles east of Wyoming and in 1924 they retired to their home in Oxford Junction, where in 1948 Mrs. Vaskovsky died. Three years ago Mr. Vaskovsky went to make his home with his niece, Mrs. Beatrice Jankowski, in Chicago, where he died Saturday, April 3, after three months of ill health.

Couple had no children, but one sister survives, Mrs. Charles Hymer, Olympia, Wash., and several nieces and nephews.

Body was taken the Hayden funeral home where the Rosary was recited Monday evening.

Three nieces accompanied the body from Chicago. They were Mrs. Jankowski, Mrs. Frank Kuban and Mrs. Mae Tykpner.
