John Neilly, 77, former Anamosa resident, died at his home in Chicago Saturday, Feb. 20, following a lingering illness.

He was born and raised on a farm near Anamosa. He then moved to Chicago. At the time of his death he was a retired foreman with 40 years service with the Commonwealth Edison company.

Mr. Neilly is survived by his wife and six children, Mary Boss, Margaret Jorgensen, Gene and Bob Neilly, all of Chicago; Jack Neilly, Cedar Rapids and Virginia Neilly, Anamosa.

Seven grandchildren, one brother, Tom Neilly, Anamosa, and four sisters, Kate and Frances Neilly, also of Anamosa, Ann Neilly, Postville, and Mary Hartnell, Stacyville, also survive.
