Elesa Matilda Hanken died suddenly at her farm home Wednesday, Dec. 30, at about 1:30 p.m., from an acute heart attack.

Services were held from the St. John's Lutheran church Saturday afternoon, Jan. 2, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. August K. Stenzel officiated, with burial at St. John's cemetery.

Elesa Hanken was born June 14, 1905, near Monticello, the daughter of William H. Hanken and Augusta Stadtmueller Hanken. She attended the rural schools in Lovell township and resided with her family on the farm now known as the Pine Grove farm.

She is survived by her mother; one sister, Katherine; four brothers, Wesley, Rudolph, Gerhard and Frederick Hanken. She was preceded in death by her father and three sisters, Anna, Johanna, and Wilhelmina.

Pallbearers included Alva Stadtmueller, Clarence Stadtmueller, Arnold Jacobs, Elmer Hanken, Louis Hanken and Roy Reuter.
