WYOMING - James Peter Wood, 72, died at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, early Tuesday morning, July 13, after a brief illness.

Funeral service was held at Wallace funeral home at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 15, with Rev. F. E. Somerville officiating. Burial was in South Mineral cemetery.

Born June 24, 1881, in Wyoming township, he resided in Jones county all his life. He was the son of William Henry Wood and Elizabeth Hutton Wood.

April 3, 1909, he married Caroline Manley, who preceded him in death in 1950.

Surviving are a brother, Willis Wood, Hale; a sister, Mrs. Leota J. White, Maquoketa, and several nieces and nephews.
