Albert Weers, 81, died unexpectedly at his farm home in Cass township Saturday night, April 10. He had farmed in Cass for the last 59 years.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, at the Castle Grove Lutheran church. Rev Paul Kenyon will officiate. Burial will be in the Castle Grove cemetery.

Six grandsons will serve as casket bearers. Goettsch funeral home, Anamosa, is handling arrangements.

Born Aug. 27, 1872, in Germany, the son of John H. and Maria Amalia Daniels Weers, he came to the United States when he was about 12 years old.

Surviving, besides his wife, are six children. They are John, Gerd, Mrs. Henry (Emma) Kray, Fred, Mrs. Raymond (Marie) Conley, all of Anamosa, and Mrs. Robert (Katie) Darrow, Cedar Rapids.

Twenty-five grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Henry E. Harms, Amber, also survive.

One daughter, Annie, preceded him in death.
