Funeral service was held at St. Paul's Lutheran church, Anamosa, Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 18, for Martin Luther, 81, who died Saturday morning, Aug. 15.

Rev. H. E. Hahn officiated. Burial was in Cedar Memorial cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Goettsch funeral home handled arrangements.

Martin Luther, son of Christian Luther and his wife, Mary nee Shaich, was born Dec. 2, 1871, at Iowa City. He was baptized on Jan. 28th, 1872, and was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Hawkeye, March 29, 1912.

He was married to Mary Schonborn March 4, 1896. Four children were born to this union, two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Peck, Anamosa, and Mrs. Henry Opperman, Strawberry Point; two sons, Otto who died in 1937, and Clarence who died in 1930. His wife preceded him in death in March 1945.

Surviving besides his two daughters are two brothers, Jacob, Oxford, and David, Fairfax, eight grandchildren, one step grandson and 18 great grandchildren.
