AMBER - George C. Herren, 59, an Amber native, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 26, following a sudden illness. Mr. Herren has been a resident of Cedar Rapids for the past 12 years.

Funeral service was conducted in the Turner chapel, Cedar Rapids, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. Rev. H. G. Schwegler, pastor of the Cedar Rapids First Lutheran church, officiated. Burial was in Cedar Memorial cemetery.

George Christoph Herren was born April 6, 1894, at Amber. He served in the U. S. Army in World War I.

Surviving are three daughters, Elverna Bergen, Norway; Miss Alice Herren, Cedar Rapids, and Betty Adams, Monticello; three sisters, Meta Heiken, Manchester; Mary Thompson, California, and Anna Helgens, Monticello.

Three brothers, Ed Herren, Anamosa; John Herren, Minnesota, and Herman, Monticello, and four grandchildren also survive.
