WYOMING - Funeral service for George C. Fuhrmeister, 95, who died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Alden, Aug. 15, was held at the Wallace funeral home in Wyoming Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 10:30 a.m.

Rev. J. M. Findley Brown sang, "Abide With Me" and "the Ninetieth Psalm," accompanied by Mrs. C. R. Smith at the piano. Casket bearers were John M. Petersen, Hans Ketelsen, Peter Sievers, James Willman, Harold Luke and Fred Dose.

Graveside service was held at the Rogers Grove cemetery in Ely, at 2 p.m.

George C. Fuhrmeister was born Feb. 26, 1868, near Ely, in Johnson county. He was the son of Andrew J. and Lucinda Stream Fuhrmeister, and the eldest of their 10 children.

Oct. 8, 1887, he was united in marriage to Miss Alice Kershner, Ely. One daughter, Alice, now Mrs. Robert Alden, Wyoming, was born to their union. After his wife's death in 1894, he moved to Cedar Rapids.

In 1908 he married Miss Elizabeth Ausslecker, Cedar Rapids, and the family home was established in Peabody, Kans. In 1921 the family moved to Fremont, Nebr., where he was custodian of Midland college. The second Mrs. Fuhrmeister died in 1926.

In 1939 Mr. Fuhrmeister retired and came to Wyoming to make his home with his eldest daughter, Mrs. Robert Alden. He was a member of the Saron Lutheran church, Fremont.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert Alden, and Mrs. Alvin Weitcamp, Hudson, Wisc.; two sons, Andrew Fuhrmeister, Fremont, Nebr., Lucian Fuhrmeister, West Liberty; one sister, Miss Nellie Fuhrmeister, Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Luther Fuhrmeister, Cedar Rapids and Ralph Fuhrmeister, Tacoma, Wash.

One brother and five sisters preceded him in death.
