Funeral services for Fred P. Petersen, 75, Oxford Junction, were held at St. Mark's Lutheran church, Oxford Junction, July 24 with burial at Wyoming. He was the father of Mrs. Melvin (Agnes) Klein, Stanwood.

Mr. Petersen died in a Monticello restaurant July 21. An inquest revealed that he had choked to death. He was a former Mayor of Oxford Junction, a founder of the Wyoming horse show, a former member of the Jones county conservation board and, for 40 years, an agent and director of the Wheatland Mutual Insurance Co.

Mr. Petersen was born in Germany Sept. 29, 1894, and emigrated to Jones county in 1910. He worked on farms in the area before starting to farm on his own. He moved into Oxford Junction in 1948.

He married Katherine Brodersen at Olin Jan. 21, 1918. He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Klein; 2 sons, Fred and Elmer, both of Wyoming; 11 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Peter Sievers, Wyoming; and Mrs. William Rees, Olin; 2 brothers, John Wyoming and Hans, Marion.

Pallbearers were James Benhart, Emil Koranda, Robert Barth, Fred Buresh, Paul Zell and John Pashek.
