Funeral service for Harper P. Smyth, 86, operator of the Easterly hotel in Anamosa for 62 years, was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 12, in the Goettsch funeral home.

Rev. Walter D. Wigger officiating. Burial was made in Riverside cemetery. Casket bearers were J. L. Holden, I. J. Hovet, Howard Robertson, W. M. Thompson, Albert Doyle and Arthur Marek.

Mr. Smyth died Wednesday morning, April 8, in the University hospitals, Iowa City. He had been ill since February of this year.
