OXFORD JUNCTION - Mrs. Wilbur Soppe, 50, died Friday, May 8, at 3 a.m. in her home here. She had been an invalid for the past two and one half years, but on Tuesday, May 5, became seriously ill.

Funeral service was held Monday, May 11, at 9 a.m. from the Sacred Heart church with Rev. Monsignor Joseph Gregor in charge. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Martina Herrig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Herrig, was born Dec. 15, 1902, at LaMotte. She attended the Immaculate Conception school at Dubuque and then taught for several years near LaMotte before her marriage to Wilbur Soppe, Oxford Junction, Oct. 12, 1927.

She was an active worker in the Sacred Heart church here, being a member of the Sanctuary guild, the Catholic Study club and for a time was the president of the local order of the National Council of Catholic Women.

Surviving are her husband and one daughter, Janis; three brothers, Ted, Raymond and Louis, LaMotte; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Reuter, Gilbertsville, and Mrs. Emily Murray, Oxford Junction. Her parents preceded her in death.
