WYOMING - Funeral service for William Otis Scripture, who died at his home in Monmouth, Tuesday morning, Dec. 2 was held Thursday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. from the Wallace funeral home in Wyoming.

Burial was in the South Mineral cemetery. Rev. F. E. Somerville was in charge of the service.

Mr. Scripture was born in Dubuque county, Dec. 29, 1869. When a small boy he moved with his parents to the Spencerville neighborhood, where he later engaged in farming and where he lived until coming to Monmouth in 1948.

He was married to Candace Felker, July 3, 1898, who survives.

Surviving also are four children; Stanley, Harold and Mrs. June Edwards, all of Wyoming, and Mrs. Eva DeVore, Monmouth, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a brother, Melvin, and a half-brother, Silas.
