Joseph J. Fleckenstein, 77, died at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, Friday, Jan. 9. He has been a resident of Anamosa for the last 18 years.

Funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 12, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic church, Anamosa. Burial was in Worthington cemetery, Worthington. McNamara funeral home handled arrangements.

Mr. Fleckenstein worked as a guard at the Men's reformatory, Anamosa, until his retirement about 10 years ago.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Lawrence, Fort Madison, Andrew, Cedar Rapids, and four grandchildren.
