Ina Byerly Meeks, only daughter of Joseph M. and Carrie Ryan Byerly, was born at the family home, three miles east of Anamosa, Oct. 18, 1897.

Her early life was spent in the community where she was born. Her schooing, begun at Antioch, was completed in the Anamosa high school, where she was graduated as valedictiorian, with the class of 1915.

After eight years of marriage spent in farming in adjacent communities, her husband died in 1929.

Shortly thereafter, she and her children returned to her old home with her parents and her only brother, Alvin, where she continued to reside until the time of her death.

Surviving besides her three children, are her mother, Mrs. Carrie Byerly; her brother, Alvin Byerly, and a grandson, Danny Reinick.

Preceding her in death were her husband and her father, Joseph M. Byerly.
