30 March 1953 - The Anamosa Journal

Funeral service for Dean G. Mardorf, 20, Anamosa, who died last Wednesday afternoon as a result of injuries suffered in a car accident near Monticello Tuesday morning, March 24, was held Saturday afternoon, March 23, in St. Matthew's Lutheran church, Monticello.

Rev. H. L. Adix officiated assisted by Rev. Paul Kenyon, Castle Grove. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello.

Dean G. Mardorf was born the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerd Mardorf August 10, 1932, in Lovell township, Jones county.

He was graduated from Anamosa high school in May, 1951.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Lena Mardorf, and a brother, Fred.

His father preceded him in death, June 20, 1943.

2 April 1953 - Monticello Express

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Dean Mardorf, who passed away at the John McDonald hospital Tuesday morning, March 25. His demise was due to injuries recieved in a car accidnet early Tuesday. Services were held from the St. Matthew's Lutheran church with Rev. H. L. Adix and Rev. Paul KIenyon officiating.

Born August 10, 1932 near Monticello, he was the oldest son of the late Gerhard Mardorf and Lena Caspers Mardorf. He attended the rural schools in that area and graduated from the Anamosa high school with the class of '51. Since his graduation from high school, he remained on the home farm and helped his mother with the farm work. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran church.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Lena Mardorf, and one brother, Fred, at home. His father preceded him in death in 1948.

Pallbearers included Dale Mardorf, Robert Reuter, Raymond Harms, Erward Gerjets, John Walderbach and LeRoy Hinrichs. Interment was at Oakwood cemetery. The Goettsch funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
