Funeral service for Mrs. Katherine M. Mott, 77, who died at her home in Anamosa, Thursday, Feb. 19, was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Goettsch funeral home.

Rev. Paul Kenyon, Castle Grove, officiated. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery, Oxford Junction.

Katherine Maria Mott was born Aug. 23, 1875, on a farm near Oxford Junction, the daughter of Norton J. Coon and Frances D. Raymond Coon. She spent her entire life in Jones county.

July 5, 1892, she was united in marriage to Wallace A. Mott at Fulton, Ill. To this union five children were born: Albert and Edwin, Wyoming; Mrs. Gerald (Alma) Wood, Olin; W. A. Jr., Maquoketa; and Eunice.

Eunice preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1902, leaving five small children, whom Mrs. Mott took and raised. They are Delbert Wood, Olin; Ida Wacker, Anamosa; Hazle Wood, Olin; Geraldine Wood, Olin; and Grace Reynolds, Anamosa.

Her husband also preceded her in death, March 21, 1944.

Surviving are three sons and one daughter, a brother, Fred Coon, East Moline, Ill.; 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
