27 October 1952 - The Anamosa Journal

Funeral service for William J. McNamara, 55, Anamosa, was held Saturday morning, Oct. 25, at St. Patrick's Catholic church, Anamosa.

Mr. McNamara died at Mercy hospital Thursday, Oct. 23, from injuries resulting in a fall from the barn at his home Monday, Oct. 21.

Rev. J. A. McMahon and Rev. Vincent Simon officiated at the service. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery, Anamosa. McNamara funeral home was in charge.

Casket bearers were James Connolly, Tony Shada, Ronny Shuler, Roy Donahue, Irvin Leggett and Leonard Wegman.

Mr. McNamara was born in Jones county May 10, 1897. He attended rural schools and Loras college in Dubuque.

On Sept. 12, 1922, he was united in marriage to Mary Angela Kehoe, Castle Grove. He farmed until 1933 and then moved to Anamosa. For the last several years he has been employed by Iowa Manufacturing Co., Cedar Rapids.

Surviving are his wife and six children, Donald J., Los Angeles; Darlene (Mrs. Robert Greene), Cedar Rapids; Glenys (Mrs. V. M. Eimon), Oakland, Calif.; Marilyn (Mrs. D. J. Wilkins), San Diego; Monica (Mrs. James Climents), San Diego; and Patrick at home.

Five brothers and two sisters also survive.
