MONTICELLO - Funeral services for Herman Brockhaus, 85, were held today (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. at the Goettsch funeral home. The Rev. Paul Bendit officiated and interment was in Oakwood cemetery.

Mr. Brockhaus died at the Jackson County Memorial hospital, Maquoketa, Monday morning, Dec. 4, after several weeks illness.

He was born at Wilhelmshafen, Germany, Feb. 15, 1882, the son of Heinrich and Margaret Tjaden Brockhaus. He was married to Cora Sandhouse, who preceded him in death Dec. 26, 1943.

He was a member of the First Congregational church.
