MONTICELLO - Funeral services for J. Henry Eiben, 85, Onslow, were held Monday afternoon, March 11, at Goettsch funeral home. The Rev. Norton J. McCaughan officiated and interment was in Oakwood cemetery.

Mr. Eiben died at John McDonald hospital Friday afternoon, March 8, after several months illness. He was born near Scotch Grove March 5, 1883, the son of Gerd and Christine Von Beesten Eiben. He received his education in the Jones county schools.

He married Ellen Warner Oct. 25, 1917, and the couple had always farmed in Jones county. His wife preceded him in death in 1963.

He was also preceded in death by a son, eight brothers and four sisters. Survivors include: seven children, John of Lowden, Arthur of Onslow, Harold of Monticello, Paul of Cascade, Clarence of Hopkinton, Mrs. George (Betty) Redmond of Monticello and Mrs. James (Marian) Blunt of Anamosa; 21 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one sister, Mrs. Matilda Martens of Manchester.

Pallbearers were Ernest Heiken, Louis Heiken, Louis Eiben, Henry Heiken, Paul Schmidt and Ben Eiben.
