Three accidents including the fourth traffic fatality recorded in Jones county this year, dimmed the week end in the county.

Mrs. Lester Boots, 39, of Anamosa, was killed early Saturday night when the car she was driving skidded off an icy road and dropped down a 15-foot embankment. The tragedy occurred a mile north of the city limits.

Mrs. Boots, a mother of four, was on her way to work when her car went out of control on county road C. She was pronounced dead on arrival at Mercy hospital in Anamosa.

ANAMOSA - Services for Mrs. Lester Boots, 39, of Anamosa were held Tuesday at the Anamosa Methodist church. Rev. Ellis Webb officiated and burial was at Cedar Memorial cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Mrs. Boots, who was killed Saturday when her car skidded on ice and plunged into an embankment, is survived by her husband, Lester, and their children: Ronald, 20, Marianne, 12, Lester E., 5 and Gregory 3. Two brothers, John Smith, Monticello, George Smtih, Langworthy, and one sister, Mrs. Stella Keating, Anamosa, are surviving.

Mrs. Boots was born Nov. 7, 1919, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Smith, Farley, both of whom are still living. One sister, Christina Allred, preceded Mrs. Boots in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Boots were married Oct. 27, 1939, in Anamosa.
