CHICAGO - Funeral services for Charles H. Byerly, 88, of Chicago and former Jones county resident, was held Feb. 9. Mr. Byerly died Friday, Feb. 6 in Chicago.

He was born in Cass township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew C. Byerly, a former sheriff of Jones county and he attended schools there. He married Elizabeth Condit, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Smith Condit and she preceded him in death in November, 1957. For many years Mr. Byerly was a railway mail clerk and lived in Cedar Rapids. Upon retirement he went to Cicero, Ill. to live with his daughter.

Survivors are his two sons, Harold Byerly of Akron, Ohio, and Dr. Loren Byerly of Westchester, Ill; one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Roberts of Cicero, Ill.; one brother, Fred Byerly of Lewistown, Mont.; one niece Mrs. Allan Fairbanks of Monticello and several cousins living in Jones county.
