Thomas Clarke Brokaw, 40, passed away suddenly at the John McDonald hospital Monday, Nov. 12, following a brief illness and operation.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Goettsch funeral home with the Rev. John F. Baumann officiating. Interment will be made at Oakwood cemetery. Pallbearers include Louis Rigby, Arthur Rigby, B. C. Hall, Merle Jacobsen, William Palmer and Dayton Yousse.

Born Jan. 12, 1911 at Perry, he was the son of Elmer and Cora Beard Brokaw. The family moved to Monticello where Clarke attended the Monticello public schools and became a noted athlete.

On January 21, 1930, he was united in marriage to Rose Littlefield and they made their home in Monticello. He had recently been employed with the Schuetz Motor, Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; one son, Thomas Clarke, Jr., and the following daughters: Pearl, Mrs. Alvin Haas, Monticello; Elizabeth Zoe, Mrs. Clifford Snyder, Monticello; and Mildred, Neena, Mantia, Gertrude, Patricia, Nancy and Susan, all at home. Also surviving are five grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer of Monticello and Roy of San Francisco; two sisters Mrs. Robert Barrow of Madrid, Iowa and Mrs. Ina Young of California.
