Services for John M. Baumel, 75, a former warden of the men's reformatory at Anamosa, were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Goettsch funeral home.

Baumel died Friday after a long illness. An Anamosa resident for 39 years, Baumel was warden at the reformatory for 14 years and deputy warden for six years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Smith of Cedar Rapids; a son, Dudley Baumel of Illinois, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
