Dr. Fred Sigworth and his daughter, Mrs. Betty Sigworth Brokaw, were killed instantly when their car became involved in an accident with two trucks Sunday afternoon. The accident happened on highway 64 a half mile east of Wyoming.

Mrs. Sigworth died early yesterday morning in the Anamosa hospital. Funeral services for her were held with her husband and daughter yesterday afternoon. *** Glenn Brokaw remains in critical condition n the hospital at Anamosa, according to latest reports. Doctors give him less than a 50-50 chance to survive the accident.

of one of the semi-trailers involved, was treated for injuries, but was hot hospitalized. Ray Williamson, Sioux Falls, S.D., driver of the other semi-trailer, was not hurt.

Truck drivers told authorities that the auto, driven by Dr. Sigworth, attempted to pass the truck driven by Williamson on a hill, cut in too close and was hurled into the path of the truck driven by Walker coming from the opposite direction.

Mrs. Sigworth, Glenn Brokaw and his daughter were taken to the hospital in Anamosa where Mrs. Sigworth's condition was reported as critical.

Dr. Sigworth had been a practicing physician in Anamosa for 51 years. He was born in Waubeek and attended the Anamosa public schools, graduating in 1894. He received his doctor's degree at Rush Medical college, Chicago, and took special graduate work in eye, nose and throat in Chicago. He began practicing in Anamosa in 1900. Mrs. Brokaw was an only daughter.

The deaths were ruled accidental by a coroner's jury called Monday morning by Acting Coroner George C. Lawrence, Anamosa.

Dr. Sigworth was a past president of the Jones county Medical Society and a member of the Iowa Medical Society, A.F. and A.M., Royal Arch Masons and Knights Templar. He was a member of the Baptist church, serving both as a deacon and a trustee, and was a former member of the El Kahir Shrine in Cedar Rapids.

The Brokaws, who have farmed near Anamosa for the last two years, had only one child.

Triple funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for Dr. and Mrs. Sigworth and Mrs. Brokaw.
