Services were held Friday, June 29, for Mrs. Kate Siebels, who passed away Wednesday at the Wyoming nursing home early that morning. Rev. F. H. Kehren officiated at the services.

Born on December 24, 1870, at Akelsberg, Kreis, Wittmund, Ostfriesland, Germany, she was the daughter of John and Tjede Oltmanns. At the age of 16, in 1886, she emigrated to the United States with her brother Gerhard and a sister Tena. They settled in Langworthy, and since lived in Jones county.

On December 11, 1890, she was married to Carl Siebels of near Monticello, and they were the parents of four children, one of whom died in early infancy. Surviving children are Carl William, Gerhard August, and Anna, Mrs. Henry Andreesen.

Following the death of her husband in 1921, Mrs. Siebels made her home with her children.

Mrs. Siebels is survived by her three children, Carl of Monticello, Gerhard of Anamosa, and Mrs. Henry Andreesen of Olin. She was preceded in death by her husband, and brothers, John and Gerd, and her sisters, Gretke and Tena. She was a member of the Wayne Zion Lutheran church.

Pallbearers included Carl H. Siebels, Donald A. Siebels, Henry W. Siebels, Richard Andreesen, Henry G. Harms and Kenneth Howie. Interment was made at the Wayne Zion cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Goettsch funeral home.
