Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Goettsch funeral home for George M. Grenewald, who died early Sunday morning.

Mr. Grenewald died while a patient at the Veteran's Administration Domicilary in Clinton. He had been ill for a number of years in various veterans hospitals.

Rev. John F. Baumann, pastor of the Evangelical and Reformed church, conducted the services. The Arthur P. O'Rourke post of the American Legion also conducted graveside services. Interment was made in Oakwood cemetery.

Mr. Grenewald was born in Richland township, Jones county, on July 3,1887, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Grenewald. He was educated in local schools. He never married.

Survivors include four sisters: Mrs. Anna Rice and Mrs. Wilhemena Schaffer, both of Pasadena, Calif.; Mrs. Martha Winans, Clinton and Mrs. Pauline K. Doutrick, Moravia, Calif.

Pallbearers were from the American Legion Post No. 209 of Monticello.

He was a veteran of World War I.

Prayer services were held at Clinton Monday afternoon by Chaplain Tinkleburg.

Out of town folks at the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rich, jr., and family of Cedar Rapids, and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Winans and son George, Clinton.
