OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon from English Lutheran church for Cornelius Petersen, 86, conducted by Kenneth Harden. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen and Mrs. Otto Koranda.

Casket bearers were six nephews, August and Martin Petersen, August and Ervin Hansen and Laurence and August Ahrendsen. Burial was in Mayflower cemetery.

Mr. Petersen died at his home here early Thursday morning. He had been in failing health for some time. He was born May 25, 1863, in Germany and came to this community when a young man. He was married to Elizabeth Hansen June 10, 1910. They farmed for some time in Wisconsin, returning here to retire. Mrs. Petersen died six years ago. Only nieces and nephews survive.
