Gerd Meinerts, 56, passed away Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Willms, near Scotch Grove, while the Willms' were away.

Gerd Hinrichs Meinerts was born Feb. 11, 1895 in Ostfriesland, Germany, the son of Frederick Meinerts and Hiene Willms Meinerts. He came to the United States in 1912 and has since been engaged in farming.

Funeral services were held at the Goettsch funeral home Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Rev. F. H. Kehren officiated with burial at the Wayne Zion cemetery.
