Mrs. Lester Ankney died unexpectedly at her home Sunday at 10:20 a.m. Funeral sermon and requiem high mass were read Wednesday morning at St. Patrick's church by Rev. R. V. Swift. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery. Goettsch handled rites.

Casket bearers were John Wolfe, Ted Wolfe, Frank Wolfe, Joe DeNio, Henry Hultz and Howard Taber, all nephews.

Mrs. Ankney was born at Stanwood Feb. 9, 1879. She was married to Lester Ankney Sept. 25, 1908.

Surviving are her husband and seven daughters: Miss Laura Ankney, Marion; Mrs. Kenneth Wells, Marion; Mrs. Kenneth Harms, Monticello; Mrs. Perry Bailey, Coggon; Mrs. Clifford Mentzer and Mrs. Louis Price, Central City; Mrs. Cecil Eye, Anamosa.

Also surviving are 27 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Kate DeNio, Anamosa; two brothers, Frank Wolfe, Cascade, and Pete Wolfe, Anamosa, and nieces and nephews.
