MONTICELLO - Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for James Charles Adams, Sr., 61, at St. Luke's Methodist church. The Rev. Denton Ericson officiated, and interment was in Oakwood cemetery.

Mr. Adams died at John McDonald hospital Wednesday evening, Jan. 10, from a heart attack. He was born near Monticello June 13, 1906, the son of Charles and Alice Knott Adams. He received his education in the Monticello area schools.

On Aug. 12, 1933, he married Kathryn Pillard and the couple had always made their home in Monticello. He had been a livestock buyer in the Monticello community for the past 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard of Keystone, and James C., jr., of Monticello; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Pete (Grace) Miller of Monticello; two brothers, George and Roy, both of Monticello.

Pallbearers were Merlin Rupp, Joe Hogan, Carlos Eilers, Raymond Buol, Ray L. Adams and Francis Miller.
