Alexander William Adams, died early Tuesday morning December 18 in his home at 524 N. Maple St., after a short illness. Mr. Adams was born Oct. 30, 1866 in Monticello, son of Henry and Mary McClain Adams. On Feb. 6, 1892 he was married to Lydia Mathiessen and made their home near Monticello for 4 years. He then moved to Fayette county where he resided for 17 years and moved back to Jones co. He was a life-long member of the presbyterian church where he was a continuous elder of the church for 30 years and active elder for 17 years.

He is survived by 2 sons, Henry F. and Ray Adams, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and one brother John F. Adams of Seattle, Washington.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon (Thurs.) at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian church with Rev. Wm. J. Grossheim of Washington, IA., formerly of Monticello officiating.

Pallbearers for William Adams are: Roy Cropp, Ed Heeren, Paul Jacobs, George Hamilton, Frank E. Stimpson and Paul Guyan.
