Eugene Paul Austin, 23, Anamosa, was killed last Thursday evening in a stock car racing accident at Maquoketa. It was the first race Austin had tried to drive in.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Goettsch funeral home in Anamosa.

Austin was educated in the Anamosa public schools and served during World War II in the army.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Austin, a brother, Jack and a sister, Shirley, all of Anamosa. Military graveside services were conducted by the Arthur McCullough post of the American Legion in Anamosa.
